Forward Head Posture Exercises and Screen Habits
Forward-head habits are shaped by both movement and screen position. Give your neck a small exercise, then reduce the reach that keeps pulling you forward.
Use a screen change before an exercise
Raise your phone closer to eye level when you can. At a desk, put the monitor in front of you and close enough that you do not lean toward small text. A movement routine has less to fight when the screen is not constantly drawing you forward.
OSHA recommends positioning the monitor so your head and neck can stay in a comfortable line with your torso.
Practice a gentle chin tuck
Glide your chin back with your eyes forward, hold briefly, and release. Keep the range small and avoid looking down. Do a few repetitions rather than holding the position for a long time.
Wall slides can add shoulder movement. Shorten the range if your neck tenses or your shoulders shrug.
Interrupt the phone position
After a reading or scrolling block, stand up, look across the room, and move your shoulders. The NHS recommends changing position regularly when computer or neck work increases discomfort.
Uncurled can remind you to return to a short guided session, but it is a general wellness tool rather than a treatment for neck pain.
Get individual advice when needed
Stop if movement causes pain, dizziness, numbness, or unusual symptoms. Persistent discomfort or an injury deserves guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.
