Work From Home Desk Setup for a More Comfortable Posture

A comfortable home desk starts with the biggest sources of leaning and reaching. Fix those first, then build breaks into the workday.

Put the screen in front of you

Your main screen should face you, not sit at an angle that keeps your head turned. Raise it if you are looking down for long periods. With a laptop, a stand plus a separate keyboard and mouse can solve two problems at once.

Choose the adjustment that removes the most leaning. You do not need to buy a new desk to make a useful change.

Keep the hands and feet supported

Bring the keyboard and mouse close enough that your elbows stay near your body. Support your feet on the floor or a footrest. If the desk is too high, a lower chair can leave your feet unsupported, so check the full arrangement together.

Mayo Clinic recommends arranging the workstation around your body rather than copying a fixed measurement from someone else's desk.

Give the day an end point

Remote work blurs the line between sitting and resting. Set a final movement cue when you close the laptop, then walk or do a short guided posture session. Uncurled can help keep that routine visible.

Stop any exercise that causes pain, dizziness, numbness, or unusual symptoms and get qualified advice when needed.
